First-Ever DHi-Jones County Tennis Tourney Held in North Carolina

Trenton, NC (October 15, 2007)—The First Annual DHi-Jones County Tennis Tournament was held on October 11, 2007, from 6-9 PM at Jones County High School's impressive new lighted tennis courts.   The event was part of what turned out to be a big night for the county's high school sports program. The parking lot was jammed, not only for the Tournament, but also for the Junior Varsity football game and a volleyball match, both of which were underway that same evening.

The tennis matches were 8 game pro sets, with each category's victor being the first to win 8 games. The most competitive match proved to be the women's final, which pitted Jasmine Hall against Andrea Rouse. Miss Hall finally pulled out an exciting 8-6 victory.

Spectators and athletes alike are already looking forward to next year's tourney, which was organized by recently-retired County Manager Larry Meadows. Trophies were provided by DHi's Roger Neighborgall.
